Runners wishing to register early for the 10th anniversary Great Midlands Fun Run still have time to sign up online before postal applications begin.

Online registration for the event - which will take place on Sunday June 10 - this year opened a full week before postal applications were released.

By Saturday, just 24 hours after registration had opened at www.greatmidlandsfunrun.com, 500 places had already been snapped up.

Now runners are being urged to get their entry confirmed quickly to avoid disappointment, as event director Tracey Spare explains: "Despite an additional 1000 places being available this year, taking the race capacity to 7000, our advice remains to complete your registration as soon as possible."

You still have time to register online before the postal applications begin - do so by visiting the website above.

Then, later this week, application forms will be printed in the Observer, or you will be able to collect one in person from the Our Place Community Hub.

This years race is the 10th running of the event, and organisers are hoping to top the record-breaking £228,000 that runners raised for charities last year.

Entry fees for this years race are £17 for adults, £10 for juniors and £5 for dogs.
