Library worker by day reveals naked ambition at night in an unlikely twist

WHEN your ultimate aim in life is to one day perform in the World famous WWE, you can understand how taking part in an amateur wrestling circuit can help.

Russell Davies (centre) leads a mixed life in terms of career choices.
You can also understand the link to the half naked butler business that Sutton Coldfield resident Russell Davies set up to provide his income until he makes it.
Where the 28-year-old differs from what is expected, though, is that as a third job he works in a library, mixing a life in the ring with one among books and serving trays.
"Each job is very different," he said. "But I love all three as each one reflects a little bit of my personality.
"Girls at the buff butler's parties rarely believe that I work in a library in the day. They think I'm lying and that I'm probably a builder or something.
"But I work at a library in Nuneaton, and although it's definitely a little bit strange to see a 16 stone (224lb) guy with a Mohawk working in a library, deep down I am a little bit geeky and it suits that side of my personality."
Before undertaking the triple career, Russell started off his working life in accounting, which he says "bored him to tears", then worked in debt counselling before deciding to become a professional wrestler.
Once that decision was made, he lived and trained for two years as a wrestler at the Ultimate Pro Wrestling academy in California.
It is the same academy that trained current WWE stars John Cena, The Miz and many other well-known current and former talents who honed their skills in the ring.
After returning to the UK in 2009, he continued wrestling but found that he didn't earn enough from the sport alone, so he did the one thing that all pro wrestlers do when they need to earn extra money – he became a library assistant.
However, working full time at the Warwickshire County Council-run library and wrestling on weekends meant his training in the gym was suffering.
Russell has to train almost two hours every day to maintain his physique and found he just didn't have the time with work and wrestling.
"So I needed to find another job that paid well, but meant I could cut down my hours at the libraries," he explained.
After watching Take Me Out, a Saturday night TV dating programme where he saw a naked butler, he thought 'why not?'
He said: "I thought I could do that, I was in excellent shape from wrestling and was already used to parading myself around in front of a crowd, so I thought how hard can it be?"
As a butler, Russell wears only a bottom revealing apron, collars, cuffs and a bow-tie. He now works for Buff Naked Butlers.
He said: "The pay is great and the hours are short which means I get to cut my hours down at the library.
"It means I still get to wrestle at weekends, which is good as I have big plans in that area."
Plans that Russell, who wrestles under the stage name Blake Warning, insisted would one day take him back to the big time inside the ring.
He said: "I hope that one day if I am lucky I will make it into the WWE. I think all wrestlers think the same thing.
"That is where you want to be competing at, but until then I have plenty on my plate to keep me going."
