Police investigating the murder of a Gloucestershire vicar have formally linked the case to the death of former Streetly teacher Betty Yates.

77 year-old Mrs Yates, who had worked at schools throughout the Midlands during her teaching career, was found dead at her home in Bewdley, Worcestershire on January 4.

Now, West Mercia Police are working with officers from the Avon and Somerset force to 'examine similarities' between her death and that of the Reverend John Suddards.

A 47 year-old man was arrested in connection with Mr Suddard's death over the weekend.
