Snow is forecast for tomorrow
The Met Office have issued an England-wide level three Cold Weather Alert for the next few days and, although we look like avoiding the worst of the conditions, Sutton is in for a snowy weekend.
The weather warning suggests that temperatures will continue to fall, possibly to as low as -9 overnight tonight.
The likelihood of snow will be at its strongest throughout Saturday afternoon and evening, with up to 5cm forecast. The potential for snow carries on into Sunday, but at the moment, it looks as though eastern areas are going to be worst affected.
Temperatures are then expected to climb from Sunday, but will probably not exceed 2 celsius.
The Met Office website carries information on how to keep yourself and elderly relatives safe during the cold snap. All the details can be found at www.metoffice.gov.uk.
