Last week the Observer reported on the worrying inclusion on Sutton Coldfield High Street and the Four Oaks Conservation Area on English Heritage's latest 'At Risk' register.

According to the organisation - responsible for protecting key heritage sites - both are in 'poor' condition and at 'medium' risk.

The problems on the High Street include the heavy traffic and vacant units, which give the area a 'poor public realm'.

In Four Oaks, a 'loss of character' was given as a reason for the area's decline.

But what can be done? What would you do to change the fortunes of these two areas? How can the heavy traffic issue be solved? What can be done to inject more character into the Four Oaks area?

Let us know here or email the Observer with your suggestions, at suttonobserver@cintamworth.co.uk.
