Woman in critical condition after RTC

A WOMAN pedestrian is in a critical condition after suffering serious head injuries following a road traffic collision with a car in Sutton this week.

The 46-year-old was involved in the incident in Mere Green Road shortly after 7.30am on Tuesday (January 24) and was rushed by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "A woman in her 40s received a serious head injury after being in collision with a car in Sutton Coldfield on Tuesday morning.

"The patient was taken on blue lights with a police escort to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

"The hospital trauma team were alerted to the life-threatening condition of the patient."
